Subwoofers are extremely strong speakers that can be built into the car. The advantage of these speakers is that they can reproduce the low tones in music. Low tones below 80 Hertz (Hz) are also called the 'bass'. Most standard car radios cannot reproduce these bass tones. The car speakers can even break due to these low tones and vibrations. If you are going to build a subwoofer in the car, make sure that the frequency of these tones is not transferred to the standard car speakers.

Subwoofer dimensions

Not every subwoofer just fits in the car. Of course, each car has specific dimensions in which the loudspeaker can be placed. Therefore, look and measure well in advance which size loudspeaker you need. At Winparts you will find subwoofers of 20 cm, 22 cm, 25 cm and 30 cm. The subwoofer comes into its own in the parcel shelf or against the rear seat. Special subwoofer cases are also available to properly build in the loudspeaker here. The speakers can be placed here for a nice sleek look. In addition, the subwoofers in the box can vibrate freely without causing damage to other components.

Installing a subwoofer in the car

Do you want to install a subwoofer in the car? That is not a difficult job. However, it does take some time to do this carefully. You will also need to purchase an amplifier. Look in our 'amplifiers' category for the right amplifier from JBL or Caliber. In order to install the loudspeaker, the audio system must be connected to the amplifier. For this, a number of cables will have to be laid from the front of the car to the loudspeaker. It is also important to check whether the amplifier is suitable and what can be connected to the amplifier. When overloaded, an amplifier quickly becomes too hot and will break down.
