Brake lines

The brake lines are the copper tubes that carry the brake fluid to the car's braking system. These copper pipes are connected to the brake hoses. Replace brake line

Replacing a brake line is a relatively simple job that you can perform yourself with a little technical insight. Use the following steps for this:

1. Drain the brake fluid. Use a container to collect the brake fluid.

2. Carefully disconnect the old hoses and measure the old brake hose. This way you can see exactly what dimensions the new brake line should have.

3. Use strong, sharp pliers to cut the new pipe to the desired dimensions.

4. Next you will have to bend the pipe at certain points. Always use a designated pliers for this purpose. This prevents kinks in the pipes.

5. When installing the new pipe, it is important to take into account vibrations that will occur while driving. Make sure that the pipe cannot vibrate against anything.

6. Flare the ends of the pipe and secure it to the caliper or cylinder with a nipple.

7. Fill the brake fluid reservoir with fresh brake fluid.

8. Bleed the brake system.
