Citroën is a French car brand. The company was founded by André Citroën. Citroën has been part of PSA Peugeot Citroën since 1976. In 1919 'Type A' was the first car on the market. Citroën made a name for itself with, among other things, the Traction Avant, 2CV, and DS series.The Citroën DS may be one of the most iconic models in automotive history, but it certainly didn't miss its start. On the first day of its presentation at the motor show in 1955, 12,000 units had already been sold! By the end of that salon it was 80,000. In total, 1.5 million copies of the DS were sold over the years, from 1955 to 1975.The Traction Avant, 2CV, DS and Ami 6 all have something in common. They are all designed by Flaiminio Bertoni. At the time, Bertoni was director of Citroën's style bureau and was responsible, among other things, for the creation of the body. -
