Throttle position sensor

The amount of air drawn into the engine and the timing of this process determine the combustion and fuel injection timing of your engine. Without the correct amount of oxygen, the fuel cannot ignite.

The throttle position sensor is an electronic component that is not particularly susceptible to wear and tear. However, contamination in the throttle body can cause a short circuit. If the throttle position sensor is faulty, you will notice this by a poorly running engine. For example, the engine may stall easily, consume a lot of fuel, lack power, or hesitate. The engine management light on your dashboard may also illuminate. These problems can also have other causes, such as a dirty throttle body. It is therefore important to have the sensor tested to determine the exact problem.

Throttle position sensor

The throttle position sensor is an electrical component that measures the position of the throttle valve. The throttle valve is located in the throttle body in the injection system of your engine, between the air filter and the engine. Air enters the engine through the throttle valve, which is necessary for combustion. When the air is drawn in depends on the position of the valve and contributes to the combustion timing. This makes the throttle position sensor an important part of the combustion process.
